Saint-Jean church

In 891, first mention of the village of Dorres, inherited by Radulf, son of Guifré el Pelos (Guifred the Hairy). Its church is mentioned in 1163 in the village of Eddors, pagus Liviensis (Llivia country). The parish of Dorres is included in the list of churches visited by the Archbishop of Tarragona in the early 14th century.

Construction of the church dedicated to St. John the Evangelist began in the 12th century, with the main nave and two side chapels to the north.

The church was enlarged in the 13th century, with the addition of a large chapel on the south side (now the camaril de la Mare de Deù), the opening of a large window in the apse, and the addition of two levels to the bell tower wall.
